Post-doctoral fellowship on image processing (Optical Coherence Tomography)
A postdoctoral research fellowship is immediately available in the Center for Ophthalmic Optics and Lasers, Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. The researcher on this position will work alongside experts in various scientific, clinical and engineering disciplines to develop image processing algorithms for registration, segmentation, detection, analysis and modelling of OCT and OCT angiography data.
PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics or a related field is required. Experience on image processing, modelling algorithms or machine learning is required. Broad experiences with optical systems, signal processing, concepts particularly coherence, interferometry and Fourier transform are also desirable.
For more information on the position, please contact Dr. Yali Jia. Applications, including a current CV, and contact details for three referees, should be submitted.
Image Processing Postdoctoral/Research Fellow Opening at Oregon Health & Science University
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the Center for Ophthalmic Optics & Lasers Lab (www.coollab.net), Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University. This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate to use optical coherence tomography (OCT) to conduct visual optics research in an academic ophthalmology setting. The researcher on this position works with a team of scientists and engineers to develop ultrahigh-performance OCT systems for comprehensive optical characterization of the anterior eye and wide-field ocular surface topography, to improve post-refractive surgery intraocular lens power calculation, therapeutic scleral lens design, diagnosis and classification of corneal shape irregularities, and assessment of anterior eye tumors. OCT will be used for structural measurements as well as angiography and elastography. Machine learning approaches will be used for disease classification.
Applicants with strong experience in image processing, visual optics, and elastography in general are desirable. Salary is commensurate with the NIH scale.
The candidate shall have a PhD in biomedical engineering, optics, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field of research. Experience with digital image and processing programming (Matlab, C++, Python) is required. Experience with ray-tracing software (e.g. Zemax), topography, modelling algorithms, and machine learning are desirable. Requires organizational skills, strong writing and oral communication skills, and database management abilities. The candidate should have demonstrated innovation, initiative, problem-solving skills, and ability to work well independently and with team members.
